The Application Security Forum Western Switzerland 2014 (#ASFWS14) is a well-established annual event dedicated to cyber defense, application and software security that will take place in Yverdon-les-Bains (Switzerland) at Y-Parc on November 4th, 5th and 6th, 2014. Tuesday November 4th will be dedicated to trainings, and Wednesday and Thursday November 5th and 6th, 2014, will offer a program of 45-minutes conferences (including Q&A sessions). We are looking for proposals of regular talks presenting new security research results in the following domains:
- Advanced exploitation
- Authentication
- Botnet analysis
- Cloud security
- Critical infrastructures (SCADA/ICS)
- Cryptography
- Digital identities
- Federated identities
- Intrusion detection and prevention
- Mobile applications security
- Privacy
- Security development lifecycle
- SW and HW reverse engineering
- Threat modeling
- Web applications security
- Web services security
These lists of subjects are not exclusive and proposals in other topics will also be considered.
Student track:
We are also expressly encouraging students willing to present the results of their bachelor/master theses performed in the above domains in 2014 to submit a proposal of type “student presentation”. Two slots of 25 minutes will be dedicated to presentations by students.

It will be possible to use English or French for the presentations during the conferences, however we prefer all the accompanying material (paper/slides/etc.) to be written in English. People willing to submit one or several proposals of talk are invited to send us one PDF file per proposal including the following information:
Required information for talk proposals:
- A title
- A 200-words abstract describing your training or your talk
- Rationale motivating why we should accept your proposal
- A statement on whether your talk has already been presented, or if it will be presented somewhere else before the #ASFWS14
- A statement on whether your talk will be given in English or French
- A list of authors and their affiliations
- The name of the presenter
- Complete contact information for the presenter, including e-mail, web presence (website/blog/twitter/…), mobile phone number and full home address
- A short biography of the presenter
- A list of talks previously given by the presenter
- A list of publications by the presenter
- A description of the research presented in the talk with a maximal length of 4 pages and/or the slides if already available
- If needed, a list of special requirements (special network access, equipment, etc.)
The PDF document(s) must be submitted at https://ichair.appsec-forum.com before August 24th, 2014, 23h59 CET. Submissions not following the above guidelines will be automatically rejected without consideration of their merits.
Researchers having already submitted a rejected proposal to the first call are allowed to re-submit an improved/reworked proposal, or to submit a proposal on a different topic.
